Radiant Barrier

A radiant barrier is a reflective material typically installed in attics, roofs, or walls to reduce heat transfer by reflecting radiant heat. Made from materials like aluminum foil or reflective coatings applied to other substrates, it works by reflecting the radiant heat emitted by the sun away from the interior of a building during hot weather, and in colder climates, it can help to reflect heat back into the interior, reducing heat loss. Unlike traditional insulation, which primarily resists conductive and convective heat flow, radiant barriers are designed specifically to address radiant heat transfer. They can be a cost-effective addition to a home's insulation system, especially in areas with high solar exposure, helping to improve energy efficiency and indoor comfort.
